Why should I have my ducts cleaned? There are three good reasons to clean the ducts in your home:

  1. Improve your indoor air quality/Improve your health – Dust contains pollutants, viruses, and micro‐organisms that can stimulate allergies and aggravate respiratory conditions. The air ducts in your home retain moisture and, therefore, are ideal breeding grounds for fungus, mold, spores, and bacteria. Some symptoms of indoor air pollution include: eye irritation, sinus congestion, headache, scratchy throat, fatigue, tightness in chest, wheezing and hypersensitivity, and cough.
  2. Less dust/Less cleaning – After the ducts are cleaned you will have less dust in your home and less house cleaning which will leave you with more time to do the things you want.
  3. Increase the efficiency of your heating and cooling system – Dust and dirt can block air flow. A .042 of an inch of dust on a heating or cooling coil can cause a 21% reduction in the efficiency of your system. An additional .042 of an inch of buildup on the fan can result in an almost 50% loss of efficiency! By cleaning the ducts properly you can increase the efficiency of your heating and cooling system and save on your energy bill.
